Supporting value-driven businesses

Did you know that 4 out of 5 consumers are willing to pay more for sustainably produced or sourced products?*

As a graphic designer, the shift in consumer priorities has influenced the way I work. Sustainability isn’t just a trend or a marketing ploy— it’s a global movement! People are increasingly aware of how the consumer economy impacts the environment, our health, and humanity.

Graphic Design and marketing have the power to influence the masses and has historically been used as a strong tool in driving the consumer economy. Designers have used their abilities to create eye-catching and relatable materials to influence people to want more for less:

More clutter

More status symbols

More fleeting gratification

For

less durability

less fair practices

less long-term value

But consumers are waking up, using there purchasing power to make their values known.

Sustainable products tend to be built to last and are dependable (like back in our grandparent’s day). Even consumers who aren't focused on sustainability are recognizing the value of quality and are voting with their wallets.

In the past I worked with businesses that just cared about their bottom line with no regard for social or environmental impacts. Those experiences drained me and left me feeling in conflict with my personal values. The “more, more, more” culture hasn’t been good for the Planet — or me.

That’s why I’ve moved away from supporting the mass-consumption machine and instead am choosing to use my abilities to support value-driven people, organizations, and businesses.

Whether you are a non-profit raising awareness, a small business making sustainably sourced food, or are a brand focused on long-lasting products and ethical practices, I’m interested in collaborating with you.

If your business shares a commitment to sustainability and ethical practices, let’s connect! What are your business’s values, and how do they drive your collaborations?
